Vendors from throughout southern Saskatchewan filled the Credit Union Spark Centre for the 11th annual GIfted winter art market on Saturday.

Wet slushy snow did not deter families from taking in the Santa Claus Parade, held on Saturday morning in Midale by the Plus One Club.

Weyburn resident Susan Mailhiot marked her 100th birthday with a party on Saturday afternoon at the Wheatland Seniors Centre, with many family and friends dropping by to wish her a happy 100th.

The Weyburn Legion Colour Guard and chaplain were on hand to share the Remembrance ceremonies at Legacy Park Elementary School on Wednesday, and they visited three schools on Thursday for similar ceremonies, in advance of Remembrance Day to be held at the Weyburn Legion on Monday, Nov. 11.

The Weyburn Comprehensive School held a Career Fair on Wednesday, with about 70 vendors on hand from post-secondary schools, along with local businesses, emergency services and industries, offering information on careers.

Grades 7-9 students at St. Michael School had a "Tiger Time-out" afternoon Friday, as they took part in a series of fun "minute to win it" games set up around the school gym, often little relays or races their team did as they circulated.

Many families dropped by the Mercury's building, and other businesses on and near 13th Avenue, as part of a promotion.

Halloween got an early start in Weyburn with the Pumpkin Lane event on Sunday evening, put on by Weyburn Tourism along with Southeast College and Prairie Sky Co-op.

The Weyburn Public Library held their annual pumpkin carving night on Thursday evening, providing pumpkins, designs and carving tools. There were two sessions available for families in order to accommodate all those who were interested in creating a Jack-o-Lantern for Halloween night.
