A memorial graveside service was held on Sept. 12 to celebrate the life of Linda Richards. This was held at Lansdowne Memorial Gardens in Kipling. Linda passed away on April 1 at the age of 73 years. A reception was held at the Friendship Centre. 

Brett Westphal of Wrentham, Alta., visited with his mother, Carol Westphal, for several days last week.  

Visiting with Doug and Anita Cudmore and family were Betty Mowbray and her daughter, Christina Mowbray, from Spruce Grove, Alta.  

Paul and Elva Dennis from Okotoks, Alta., spent some time in Wawota this past month where they visited with family and friends. 

Sheila Cuddington and son Liam of Regina visited with her mother, Aldea Bengston. 

Dianna Purdy of Regina visited with her sisters and families, Linda Birnie and Sandra Murray. Also visiting in Wawota is Janice Birnie from Hawaii. She isn't exactly visiting as she is now a permanent resident and has purchased a condo on Walter Street. 

Summer visitors with Cecile Cudmore and family were daughters, Lisa Petterson and Rhonda Stoudt from Airdrie, Alta. 

Wawota Public Library and District would like to welcome Myrna Jewell as our new librarian. She is from Langbank and was working at the library in Glenavon. Kayla Porter has stepped down but will join the library board. 

Those attending the 35th school reunion at the street dance on Sept. 3 were Owen Garratt of Spruce Grove, Brett Westphal of Wrentham, Rhonda Stoudt of Airdrie, and Sean Choo-Foo, Darla Sauter and Marc Porter. 

Happy 50th birthday to Neena Johnson. Her birthday was Sept. 3.
