SUV plows into Saskatoon building, takes out balcony

A male was taken to hospital with unknown injuries.

SASKATOON – One person was taken to hospital with unknown injuries after an SUV plowed into a balcony of a building at 25th Street and 3rd Avenue Tuesday afternoon.

Saskatoon Fire Department were called at about 2:48 p.m. to a report of a vehicle leaving the road and hitting a building. The first fire crews arrived at about 2:51 p.m. Their primary focus was on patient care and they attended to a male before he was taken by ambulance to hospital with unknown injuries.

Firefighters ensured the building was stable and a tow truck pulled the vehicle away from the building. A construction crew conducting interior renovations was on site and will be conducting immediate repairs to the balcony.

No other injuries were sustained as a result of this collision.  

The Saskatoon Fire Department wants to thank motorists and pedestrians for their patience while they conducted their work.
