Woman arrested after 11 stolen firearms recovered headed to trial

Cut Knife RCMP say that the truck involved in the collision near Marsden was stolen from a rural home that was broken into and 11 firearms stolen.

CUT KNIFE – A woman facing theft, break and enter and weapons-related offences is headed to trial in Cut Knife Provincial Court on July 2.

Keesha Rippengal was arrested after Cut Knife RCMP got a report of a collision on a grid road southwest of Marsden around noon on March 7, 2023. Around the same time, they got a call about a break-in at a home.

The police investigation determined that the truck involved in the collision was stolen from a rural home, along with 11 firearms.

Cut Knife RCMP arrested four people at two separate homes in Marsden later that day. One person was released without charge.

Police also seized an ATV, fraudulent documents, credit cards, and a significant amount of power tools and electronics also suspected of being stolen.

Joshua Thorne and Amy Racette were charged with numerous offences. The charges against Racette were stayed. Several charges against Thorne were withdrawn and he was sentenced to time served on two of the charges.
