LEASK — Delbert Dreaver always dreamed of winning big on a scratch ticket and his dreams have come true in an unexpected turn of events!

The Leask winner took home $100,000 on the Crossword ticket from his $20 Super Scratch Pack.

“I just thought I had won $1,000 because there were a few words I missed and didn’t scratch at first,” he explained while claiming his prize.

“I went to the store thinking it was $1,000,” he continued. “When the cashier scanned the ticket, it came up as $100,000!”

The winner said he was shocked and is still in disbelief over his big win.

“I have to pinch myself every once in a while,” he joked. “It’s pretty exciting.”

Dreaver purchased his winning ticket at Sharon’s Cafe, located in Mistawasis First Nation near Leask. He won the second top prize on the Super Scratch Pack Crossword ticket.
