SOUTHEAST SASKATCHEWAN — For the second straight day, an air quality warning has been issued for southeast Saskatchewan.

The latest warning was issued in the morning of July 31, and is for the southeast corner. Twenty-eight RMs are affected. Estevan, Weyburn and Carlyle are among the impacted urban municipalities.

The warning states smoke is causing poor air quality and reduced visibility across southeast Saskatchewan.

A similar warning was issued on July 30 due to wildfire smoke.

"Air quality and visibility due to wildfire smoke can fluctuate over short distances and can vary considerably from hour to hour," the warning states.

People more likely to be impacted by wildfire smoke include people ages 65 and older; infants, young children and pregnant women; people with an existing illness or chronic health condition; and people who work outdoors. They are encouraged to avoid strenuous activities when outside and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.
