New court date for man accused of death of toddler in Canora

In November of 2020, emergency crews were called to a Canora residence on a report of a toddler needing urgent medical care, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

YORKTON — A Cote First Nation man charged with second-degree murder in the death of a toddler, has appeared in court again.

26-year-old Waylon Severight was in Yorkton Friday, where he was remanded in custody to May 17.   

RCMP say the accused was known to the victim, 21-month-old Lorenzo Cote.
