Canora Public Library pays tribute to volunteers

Volunteers play a big role in helping library card holders get the most out of library services.

Canora - The Canora branch of the Parkland Regional Library celebrated National Volunteer Week recently by recognizing a number of its valued volunteers.

Librarian Deb Leson highlighted the valued contributions of the following volunteers:

Drea Beblow: Drea has grown up in the Canora Composite School and has been a volunteer for all her high school years, helping with technology, crafts, reading, inventory and so on.

Helga Zbeetneff: Helga is a retired teacher with wealth of knowledge of everything on dogs, birds, photography, health and plants, among others. She has donated plants for beautifying the front of library.

Norma Hudye: Norma has been on the library board for a number of years.

Sharon Noble: Sharon is the board chair for the library.

Irene Skurat: Irene is the former library board chair and still is on the Canora board.

Michelle Hammermeister: Michelle has been busy in a variety of areas: weeding, inventory, reading, and technology help for patrons. She has a great grasp on our library circulation as she worked as librarian in Esterhazy.

“They all are great supporters of the library as they use their library card in all the ways they can, as we have so many new programs available that are free with your library card,” added Leson.

Any patrons who have a skill they would like to share with the library are encouraged to phone 306-563-6788.

Leson reminds everyone that. “We have an ongoing book sale on until the end of August or until our supply is gone. Donations to the library are appreciated.”
