CANORA — The Canora/Sturgis RCMP responded to 35 calls from April 18 to April 25, some of which included:
- two 911 Act calls,
- one abandoned vehicle,
- three assaults,
- one Child Welfare Act call,
- one Coroners Act call,
- two criminal harassments,
- one discharging air gun with intent,
- one distributing intimate images without consent,
- one failure to comply with release conditions,
- one impaired operation of a motor vehicle,
- three mischiefs,
- two other provincial calls,
- one suspicious person,
- 10 traffic offenses,
- two traffic collisions,
- one Trespass Act call, and
- two uttering threats.
Pellet gun shot
On April 22, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP investigated a call involving a discharge of a pellet gun. The caller reported being shot at with a pellet gun by an unknown person in Canora. The investigation continues.
Wandering child on railroad tracks
The Canora/Sturgis RCMP were dispatched on April 23 to a report of small child wandering on the railway tracks in Canora. The child was located by his parents. Police determined an unlocked gate allowed the child to escape the yard.
Power pole collision
The Canora/Sturgis RCMP were dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle collision with a power pole in Preeceville on April 23. A truck backed into a power pole causing the pole to break at the bottom. SaskPower completed repairs to the damaged pole.
Tool stolen from truck
On April 23, the Canora/Sturgis RCMP investigated a theft report. Tools and batteries were stolen from a work truck parked behind a storage building west of Canora on Highway 5. Police continue to investigate.
