“The Buchanan Skating Rink would like to thank everyone for coming out to our three-on-three hockey tournament and Rec game on New Year’s Eve and bringing back some hockey to our rink.

“We would like to thank all the players who came out to play. We saw some great hockey and hope that everyone had a great time. Thanks to the Wadena Rec team for coming out to Buchanan to play against us.

“Thank you to the friends, family and members of the community that came out to support our day. Thank you to Shewchuk Insurance for donating the pork for our supper, Shawna and Shannon Leson for the donation of the raffle prizes and the Buchanan Gateway Co-op for the donation of the two boxes of hamburgers.

“Thank you to all the volunteers who helped and offered to help us to make this day happen. It has been greatly appreciated.

“We hope each of you was able to end the year making some great memories - after all it isn’t every day that we stop the clock in the final game to have a wedding party come on the ice. Happy New Year!” concluded Godhe.
