Students awarded scholarships for academic achievements

The classroom achievements of individual CCS students were celebrated, with a dozen different Class of 2024 members receiving scholarships.

CANORA - The graduates of Canora Composite School celebrated the occasion as a group on June 27. The academic achievements of individual students were also celebrated, with a dozen different class members receiving scholarships.

Shayna Leson was the recipient of the Community Insurance scholarship, presented by Deryl Ortynsky. Shannon Leson presented her with the Leson’s Funeral Home & Monumental scholarship, according to the following criteria: Selected and chosen by scholarship committee (staff), this student must be a student of integrity who is known to show empathy and compassion to others, including fellow students, peers, and staff alike.

The RCMP Canora/Sturgis Detachment scholarship was awarded to Hunter Lamb by Kim Eiteneier.

Doris Kopelchuk presented the Beta Sigma Phi Xi Master scholarship to Brandon Harder.

Zennia Lukey received the Canora CIBC scholarship from Kim Eiteneier.

Porter Wolkowski accepted the Canora Ag Society scholarship from Carmen Wolkowski. Porter was also the recipient of the Growing Froward scholarship, presented by Jennifer Lindgren.

Carla Steciuk presented the Aspen Paramedic scholarship to Bailee Zuravloff, who also received the Gateway Co-op scholarship.

Bronson Heshka received the Canora Hospital Auxiliary scholarship from Lorie Wasyliw, and the Town of Canora scholarship from Mayor Mike Kwas.

The recipient of the Crossroads Credit Union scholarship was Josh Rock, presented by Sean Plosz.

The Warren Davis scholarship was presented by Davis to Jack Craig. Craig also received the Ukrainian Catholic Women’s League scholarship, presented by Audrey Hrycak.

Rylan Bletsky accepted the Nutrien AG Solutions scholarship from Kim Eiteneier.

Genevieve Shukin presented the Richardson Pioneer scholarship to Nate Wolos.

The recipient of the Ernie Anuik scholarship was Callie Sznerch, presented by Ernie Anuik.
