Cara Shabatoski, daughter of Terri and Delmar Reilkoff of Kamsack and granddaughter of the late Dr. Les and Kay Laevens, was hired to teach Grade 5 students.

A KCI graduate in 2002, Shabatoski attended the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon where she obtained her bachelor of arts degree in 2006, and bachelor of education degree in 2012.

Three years ago, she taught mathematics and English to grades 6, 7 and 8 students at the Springside School, and then two years ago was teaching social studies to grades 2 to 9 students at Churchbridge. Last year she was on a maternity leave.

She and her husband Devin, who works at Esterhazy, have two children: Liam, 3½ and Preston, 1.

Shabatoski said she enjoys gardening and golfing and spending time with her family. During the school year she plans to help with the grades 5 and 6 basketball program and will be assisting the student representative council.
