YORKTON - Recently, Yorkton Hyundai reached a milestone with their Brayden Ottenbreit Close Cuts for Cancer partnership.

Over the past eight years, Yorkton Hyundai’s support of the Close Cuts for Cancer - Local Cancer Initiatives Program has exceeded expectations and has helped a vast number of local cancer patients and their families.

Over the past eight years they have raised more than $100,000, including more than $20,000 presented last week.

A highlight of Ron Kaban, Dealer Principal and his staff’s efforts was their ability to become a substantial part of making the Permanent Palliative Care Rooms located at the Yorkton & District Nursing Home and the Yorkton Regional Health Centre, a reality. These rooms were designed with the intention of providing patients and their families with a comfortable, home-like environment where they can all comfortably spend time together during their final journey with cancer and other illnesses.

“We are always happy to team up with local non-profit and initiatives, and Close Cuts for Cancer has been a partnership we have been very proud of. Unfortunately, many of our team, family and friends have been affected by cancer, so anything we can do to help people during a difficult time is our goal,” offered Kaban in a release.

Since 2016, Yorkton Hyundai has supported Brayden Ottenbreit Close Cuts for Cancer through holding barbecues and implemented an annual program called “Close Cuts Bucks” where $100 from every new or used vehicle sold is earmarked to support the local cancer initiatives taken on by the charity.

“We are so very thankful for the support that Close Cuts has received from Ron and his staff over the years. Witnessing how the lives of local cancer patients have been affected, changed, and improved as a direct response to this partnership has been such a blessing. Yorkton Hyundai is certainly a dedicated, community-minded business that goes above and beyond to give back to the residents of Yorkton and area,” noted Leone Ottenbreit, Co-Founder – Brayden Ottenbreit Close Cuts for Cancer in the release.
