KAMSACK — A company owned by a former Kamsack resident with nearly two decades of experience in business, real estate and construction has acquired a new company that allows it to expand housing solutions.

On March 3, Built Prefab, a company formed by James Rosowsky and known as “a leader in modern modular housing,” announced the acquisition of Lake Country Modular, “a respected provider of attainable, high-quality manufactured, modular, multi-family and First Nations housing.”

“This strategic acquisition significantly enhances Built Prefab’s product offerings, enabling it to deliver more move-in-ready housing options and innovative solutions to meet the growing demand across Western Canada,” said a release by Built Prefab Corporation.

A 1994 graduate of the Kamsack Comprehensive Institute, James Rosowsky, the CEO of Built Prefab, is one of four children born to Connie and the late Orest Rosowsky of Kamsack. His mother, a retired principal of the KCI, currently lives in Yorkton, while his sister conducts a legal practice in Kamsack.

Before moving to Kelowna, B.C., where he lives with his wife Karley Scott Rosowsky and two children, aged 17 and 19 years, James had attended the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon where he received his bachelor’s and a law degree while keeping an interest in music by performing in a number of bands, including Junto and The Pinch.

James has “a proven track record of assembling teams and establishing processes that foster growth and innovation,” the release said. “In his earlier career, James first pursued his passion as a full-time musician before transitioning to become a business lawyer.

“James’s diverse interests have allowed him to develop valuable skills in web development, online systems, building design, and construction management.

“With a strong entrepreneurial spirit, James ventured into the prefab industry in 2013 with Karoleena Homes. As CEO, he adeptly expanded the company until its acquisition by Horizon North Manufacturing in 2016.

“In 2019, James founded Built Prefab, where he remains committed to building a team and cultivating a company that can effectively achieve its mission. His multifaceted background and leadership qualities make James a versatile and dynamic force in the industry.

“We're thrilled about this opportunity to expand our range of products and contribute positively to addressing B.C.'s housing crisis,” Rosowsky said. “The integration of Lake Country Modular into our group will streamline project timelines, enhance efficiency, and reinforce our shared commitment to sustainable, high-quality construction.”

Jim Gardner, former owner of Lake Country Modular, said that he was excited to pass the torch to Built Prefab.

“Their commitment to quality and innovation aligns perfectly with our vision, and we're confident they’ll continue our legacy of exceptional service.”

Lake Country Modular Homes has established a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, cost-effective housing solutions, the release said. Both companies will maintain their existing brands, with Built Prefab specializing in mid to high-end modern modular homes, and Lake Country Modular focusing on attainable, high-quality manufactured, modular, multi-family, and First Nations housing.
“Built Prefab is a leading provider of modern modular homes known for sustainable, efficient, and customizable housing solutions,” it said. “Built Prefab is dedicated to transforming housing construction across Western Canada through innovation and quality.

“Lake Country Modular is recognized for excellence in manufactured, modular, and multi-family housing, delivering attainability and exceptional customer service,” the release said. “As part of the Built Group, it continues to serve homeowners, developers, and First Nation communities with an expanded range of offerings.
