KAMSACK — Preparations for the upcoming election are underway for Kamsack with two mayoral candidates and eight council candidates.

Residents will have a chance to meet candidates and hear their platforms at a public forum on Nov. 7 at the Kamsack Playhouse, hosted by the Playhouse board.

Mayor Brunt said, “There's a lot of people running that some people in town don't know who they are. It will be a candidates forum, a chance for people to meet them and hear what they have to say. They've got a chance to introduce themselves and answer questions from the floor. That's being hosted by the Playhouse, not the town.”

Running for the mayor’s chair are Beth Dix and Shelley Filipchuk.

For council, the eight candidates for the six council spots are: Janice Derwores, Onatasia Eliuk, Brian Kirkpatrick, Darren Kitsch, MacKenzie Kroeger, Easton Molina, Robyn Tataryn and Karen Tourangeau.
