Mostly new faces running for Kamsack council

Only two incumbents are running for a spot on Kamsack Town Council. There will be a new mayor.

Kamsack council is guaranteed to be made of up mostly new faces after the Nov. 13 civic election.

KAMSACK — No matter what happens in the coming civic election, Kamsack’s town council will be made up of mostly new faces.

Running for the mayor’s chair in the Wednesday, Nov. 13 civic election are

  • Beth Dix and
  • Shelley Filipchuk.

For council, the eight candidates for the six council spots are:

  • Janice Derwores,
  • Onatasia Eliuk,
  • Brian Kirkpatrick,
  • Darren Kitsch,
  • MacKenzie Kroeger,
  • Easton Molina,
  • Robyn Tataryn and
  • Karen Tourangeau.

Members of council at the end of the 2020 to 2024 term are: Mayor Nancy Brunt and Councillors Claire Bishop, Bryce Erhardt, Shelley Filipchuk, Darren Kitsch and Jodi Sas.

Voting will take place on Nov. 13 at the Ukrainian Catholic Hall on 114 West Ave between the hours of 9 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Advance voting will take place on Saturday, Nov. 9 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Town of Kamsack office.
