NORQUAY — Only one teacher new to the Norquay School joined the staff last week when students across Saskatchewan began their 2022-23 year.
Stephen Kovacs, who will be teaching Kindergarten this year, joined the staff of 28, which includes 15 teachers and 13 support staff.
In addition to being the Kindergarten home room teacher, Kovacs will be teaching mathematics, English Language Arts (ELA), health, arts education, physical education and social studies.
Trevor Olson, who returns as principal of the school, has Grade 12 as his homeroom and will be teaching Grades 10 to 12 history, while being a guidance counsellor.
Stacy Rubletz, the vice-principal, teaches Grade 10 and is a student support teacher.
Lisa Dyck is the Grades 10 and 11 homeroom teacher, and instructs mathematics to students in Grades 7 to 12, and teaches law.
Heath Morin has the Grade 9 homeroom and teaches ELA to Grades 7 to 12.
Nicole Grocholski, in the Grade 8 homeroom, teaches Grades 5 to 12 sciences and computers.
Evan Rostotski has the Grade 7 homeroom and teaches Grade 2 and grades 5 to 12 physical education, life transition and psychology.
Jeannette Ebert, with the Grade 6 homeroom, teaches Grade 6 mathematics, ELA, social studies, health and guidance, and Grades 7 and 8 social studies and Grade 9 health.
Shea Chanin teaches practical applied arts (PAA) to students in Grades 7 to 12; arts education to Grades 7 to 9, and health to Grades 7 and 8.
Barry Chorneyko teaches PAA to grades 7 to 12, and art to Grade 6.
Geoffrey Grocholski, who has Grade 5 as his homeroom, teaches Grade 5 ELA, mathematics, social studies, health and arts education, and keyboarding to students in Grades 8 and 9.
Jason Head, who has the Grade 4 as his homeroom, teaches Grade 4 mathematics, ELA, health, arts education, physical education, science and social studies.
Lindsay Peters, the Grade 3 homeroom teacher, teaches Grade 3 mathematics, ELA, health, arts education, physical education, science and social studies.
Rhonda Zubko, the Grade 2 homeroom teacher, teaches Grade 2 mathematics, ELA, health, arts education, science and social studies.
Laura Davis, who has Grade 1 as her homeroom, teaches Grade 1 mathematics, ELA, health, arts education, physical education, science and social studies.
Support staff includes Tracy Grywacheski, the administrative assistant, and Sandra Turta, the library technician, while working as educational assistants are: Erin Auchstaetter, Jwanita Newcombe, Ronda Lasko, Rene Wasylniuk, Sharon Nelson, Christine Lukey, Bowdrie Northrop, Lee Anne Butterfield and Jay Cee Brass. Caretakers are Ruth Lukey and Vonna Ball.
