It was a double first Friday afternoon at the Yorkton Exhibition track.
It was the first races of the season for the Eastern Professional Chariot & Chuckwagon Association as the chariots took to the track.
And, it was the first event for the Legacy Co-op Grandstand which has been built from the ground to roof over the last several months at a cost of about $730,000.
The races, sponsored locally by the Yorkton Exhibition Association will continue over the weekend with chuckwagons at 6 p.m. tonight.
Then Saturday chariots go again at 3:30 p.m. with chuckwagons at 6:30, while Sunday the chariots run at noon and the chuckwagons at 3 p.m..
Tonight a cabaret with Lenny and the Gypsies will be held, while fair food fare is available over the weekend.
Gymkhana events are also scheduled for Saturday.
