Collision on Broadway

The Yorkton Municipal RCMP Detachment along with Yorkton Fire Protection Services and Yorkton EMS responded to a collision at the intersection of Broadway Street West and Gladstone Avenue in Yorkton. At approximately 1:05 p.m.

The Yorkton Municipal RCMP Detachment along with Yorkton Fire Protection Services and Yorkton EMS responded to a collision at the intersection of Broadway Street West and Gladstone Avenue in Yorkton. At approximately 1:05 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, 2010, a westbound pickup truck on Broadway Avenue went through the intersection up onto the center meridian colliding with the camera sensor pole. The pickup truck suffered extensive front end damage and the pole was knocked off its footings coming to rest in the eastbound turning lane. The driver and lone occupant of the truck was taken to the Yorkton Regional Health Center with undetermined injuries. City of Yorkton Employees and Sask Power were called to assist in shutting off power to the pole before the truck could be safely removed. All westbound traffic on Broadway was diverted during the investigation and clean up of the scene. An RCMP Traffic Collision Analyst is assisting in this investigation which is ongoing in an effort to determine the cause of the collision.

Yorkton Rural RCMP are investigating a traffic incident that occurred Friday June 18 at about 3:00 pm on Hwy # 10 near Dunleath, Sask. A white Malibu car was heading East on Highway #10 and met a large white van travelling west on Hwy #10. The white van crossed the centre line completely in to the east bound lane, causing the driver of the east bound car to take evasive action. The car ended up in the ditch while the white van continued on westbound in to Yorkton. Yorkton Rural RCMP continue to investigate.

On June 19, 2010 in the early morning hours unknown person(s) stole a 1990 Chevrolet pick-up truck from the front yard of a residence in Springside, Sask. The truck is described as red on top and bottom and silver colour in the middle. It is an extended cab and has a very loud exhaust.. It has Saskatchewan License 624 EFP.
