There are all sorts of bird species here in rural Saskatchewan, but we never really get the chance to get up close and personal with them.
That changed on Saturday, July 7 as Iain Timmins and Dennis Tarr of the Saskatchewan Falconers Club held a presentation on falcons for a crowd of about 50 people in the bowl of the Outlook Regional Park, allowing people to check out these magnificent flying predators up close and learn about the species.
The presentation was sponsored by the Outlook & District Wildlife Federation and served as the first in a series of free programming events hosted by the regional park for the summer.
A different event takes place every Saturday at 1:00 in the park bowl that is free to the public, but those who are driving are reminded that every vehicle entering the park is to have a pass.
