The map shows that Yorkton had three railway companies passing through town. The Canadian Pacific Railway, the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway and the Canadian National Railway along Seventh Avenue North. The fact that three railways were located here in a town of about 5,000 is quite remarkable. Yorkton became around 1910 the largest distributing centre in the region. Streets showing are: Broadway, South Front, Livingstone, Borden, King, Cameron, Smith, Duncan, Darlington, Dunlop, Henderson. Avenues: Melrose, Laurier, Brodie, Agricultural, Assiniboia, Tupper, Rosyln, Argyle, Myrtle, Betts, and First to Seventh Avenues. The Grand Trunk Pacific Railway was absorbed by the Canadian Northern Railway and then the Canadian National Railway.
