Police are seeking information on the whereabouts of a fugitive from the law.
William Crawford is currently wanted on charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police and failing to comply with an undertaking. He also currently has charges before the courts for trafficking, possession of a controlled substance, possession of stolen property and weapons offences.
Crawford is described as approximately six feet tall, weighing 170 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes and is known to frequent the Prince Albert and Yorkton areas.
The suspect was last seen August 27 in Yorkton driving a red Chevrolet Equinox with Saskatchewan licence plate 566 JVZ. Police attempted a pull over, but Crawford fled leading officers on a chase northwest of the city. The RCMP abandoned the chase according to a press release citing safety considerations.
Yorkton municipal RCMP commander Staff Sgt. Greg Nichol said Crawford has been known to threaten to kill police officers and they are treating him as being armed and extremely dangerous.
Members of the public are cautioned to stay away from the suspect and immediately notify the closest RCMP detachment or Crimestoppers by phone at 1-800-222-TIPS, online at www.saskcrimestoppers.com or by texting TIP206 to CRIMES (274637).
A cash reward is being offered for information leading to Crawford’s arrest.
