Amie Evans, a small business advisor with TD Canada Trust in the city has received that organization’s highest employee honour.

It was announced last Wednesday Evans was among 90 employees to receive the 2015 Vision In Action award.

The award is presented annually based on leadership, example of guiding principles of the financial institution, community involvement and other factors to deserving individuals from within TD Canada Trust’s 85,000 employees.

“For us it’s the highest award an employee can receive,” said Brian Gervais, Senior Vice President.

Gervais said the award is highly reflective of the employee being involved in the local community. Evans is a past president of the Yorkton Chamber of Commerce among other things.

“It’s a big part of our culture,” he said. “Giving back is really important.”

Evans, who said the award “was a surprise”, was also “an honour.”

Evans said in her case being involved in the community is something she sees as a responsibility everyone should undertake.

“It’s something everybody should do,” she said, adding it is community involvement which builds “a better for future” for everyone.

The award will see Evans, and a guest, in Toronto for TD Canada Trust AGM, and other activities.
