Yorkton RCMP investigating a report of an attempted abduction

A female youth reported that on May 26, 2021 at 8:50 a.m., she was walking near the railroad tracks on Darlington Avenue, east of Victoria Avenue. An unknown male got out of a truck and approached her.

A female youth reported that on May 26, 2021 at 8:50 a.m., she was walking near the railroad tracks on Darlington Avenue, east of Victoria Avenue. An unknown male got out of a truck and approached her. He grabbed the youth by the elbow, but did not say anything. The youth pulled away from the male’s grasp and ran approximately two blocks to a high school.

 

Yorkton RCMP was alerted to this incident by school officials at approximately noon that day. Patrols were conducted, but neither the suspect nor the suspect vehicle were located.

 

The suspect description is as follows:

· Approximately 6 feet tall

· Dark brown/black and grey hair

· Driving a grey or tan pickup truck

 

Yorkton RCMP continue to investigate.

 

Police are asking anyone with information about this incident, particularly anyone who may have seen the vehicle or suspect matching the above description yesterday morning to report it immediately to the Yorkton RCMP Detachment at 306-786-2400.
