A resident of The Key First Nation, who was recently found guilty for drug and weapon charges, will be doing some time in jail.
           Clarence Papequash, 64, pleaded guilty in March to possession of a substance, (codeine) for the purpose of trafficking and one firearm infraction for possession of prohibited ammunition.
           Evidence presented in Yorkton Provincial Court indicated that the RCMP executed a search warrant in February at Papequash’s residence on The Key First Nation where they seized pills, shotgun shells and ammunition cartridges.
           On April 24 Papequash was sentenced to one year in confined custody, and two additional years of probation, according to a clerk at the Provincial Court in Yorkton. As well he was handed a firearms prohibition and DNA order.
