Area break and enters tied to larger crime spree

Five adults and five youths have been charged in connection with numerous incidents of break and enters, thefts and mischief, which included 27 charges stemming from incidents in Canora, Sturgis and Preeceville area between September 1 and November 1

Five adults and five youths have been charged in connection with numerous incidents of break and enters, thefts and mischief, which included 27 charges stemming from incidents in Canora, Sturgis and Preeceville area between September 1 and November 15.

In total, the individuals have been linked to multiple files through evidence gathered to date and have been charged with a combination of 167 Criminal Code charges connected to incidents in the Yorkton Rural, Yorkton Municipal, Canora, Wadena, and Esterhazy RCMP Detachment areas. In addition to the charges of break and enters and thefts, many of the charges are related to dangerous driving of both quads and other vehicles.

The Yorkton Rural Detachment along with the assistance of Yorkton Provincial GIS and Yorkton Forensic Identification Section made the arrests. None of the individuals charged were from the Canora area.
