A number of groups and organizations from this area are among the more than 700 that recently shared in approximately $1.3 million from the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA)’s charitable gaming grant program.

“Strong communities are made up of volunteers who work together for the betterment of others,” Minister responsible for SLGA Don McMorris said. “Our government is pleased to provide charitable gaming grants to further support the volunteer efforts of these groups and organizations.”

These quarterly grants are based on a percentage of net proceeds raised through licensed charitable gaming activities such as bingos, raffles, break-open tickets, Texas Hold'em poker and Monte Carlo events.

Charitable gaming reports submitted by groups are used by SLGA to automatically calculate grant amounts.
