A 45-year-old Canora area woman was pronounced dead at the scene of a single-vehicle traffic accident near Veregin on Thursday morning.

Kamsack RCMP were notified of the accident on highway No. 5 at 8:30 a.m., said Cst. Geoff Smith of the Kamsack detachment.

The woman was the lone occupant of the vehicle which ended up on its roof in the north ditch.

Canora RCMP, traffic services and traffic analysts assisted the Kamsack RCMP, Smith said. The highway was closed for several hours when vehicles were detoured on a grid road.

The matter is still under investigation, he said on Friday.
