The Canora Junior Elementary School has gotten a little bit closer to its goal of funding the purchase of new playground equipment thanks to a donation from the Crossroads Credit Union.
Students and staff were present on October 17 to accept a cheque from Canora branch members of the Crossroads Credit Union, including Jeff Bisschop, Michelle Goetzinger, Tina Love, Leanne Woloshyn and board directors Betty Tomilin and Allan Wonsiak. The cheque for $4,000 was made to the Canora Junior Elementary School’s School Community Council for the playground improvement project.
Principal Rod Steciuk thanked Crossroads Credit Union for its members’ continued support of the school.
The donation was made through the Crossroads Community Investment Fund, which assists eligible non-profit organizations in the community. In 2016, the Canora branch of the Crossroads Credit Union has donated to 12 organizations and made a total contribution of $46,068.
“We take pride in the ability to support various organizations that allow our communities to flourish,” said Woloshyn.
