Fireworks Cap Canada 150 in Milden

For many people, it just isn’t summer yet without seeing some colorful fireworks blasted off into the prairie night sky to mark the end of any memorable celebration.

For many people, it just isn’t summer yet without seeing some colorful fireworks blasted off into the prairie night sky to mark the end of any memorable celebration.

So a spectacular display of raucous, thundering pyrotechnics is precisely what organizers of the village of Milden’s Canada 150 events gave people last weekend.

The community held its Canada 150 celebration on Friday night, June 9 at the Milden Memorial Rink, featuring a pulled pork supper and a horseshoe tournament as well as games, live music and kids activities before the night was capped with the impressive fireworks display.

As smaller communities such as Milden and other surrounding areas mark Canada’s monumental 150th birthday with their own fun events, many eyes are keeping glued on everything surrounding Outlook’s big bash, which includes a multitude of different attractions spread out over a few weeks, including the human Canadian flag that took place at the Outlook High School football field on June 15, and the Royal Canadian Legion’s Veteran Memorial Project on June 24, where a ceremony will be held in Outlook’s cemetery featuring a fly-by from 15 Wing Moose Jaw.
