Council was elected for a four-year term for the village of Rama. Mayor Darrell Dutchak and incumbent councillors Phillip Shewchuk and Evan Matsalla won by acclamation.
The RM of Invermay No. 305 is holding municipal elections for reeve. The nominees are Viola Bell and Bev Whyatt. Incumbent councillors are Ken Kowalchuk, Div. 1; Dale Minhinnick, Div. 3; and Roger Genoway, Div. 5. Advance voting will take place on October 22 at the RM Office of Invermay No. 305. The communities of Invermay and Rama are located in this municipality.
Christa Swiderski was the 50/50 winner at the Performing Arts and Leisure Society (PALS) get-together on September 23.
Tuesday evening Kaiser winners at the Golden Jets were Raymond Dyky and Florence Bilan in first place, George Bilan and Ivan Cheropita in second place, and Christine Dyky and Nick Woloschuk in third place.
Parents of Rama students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 had a fun week sending their kids to chool for the Student Representative Council (SRC) Spirit Week from September 26 to September 30. September 26 was Pajama and Wacky Hair Day. September 27 was Class Colour Day which had different grades wear certain colours. On Wednesday, the kids dressed with their cloths inside-out and backwards. Black-and-White Day was on Thursday, and of course Friday was School Spirit Day!
