Kelsey Ecological Society held its annual barbecue on August 26 at the residence of Kathleen and Michael Pitt's Lake Lomond farm.

"It was a very sunny Saturday," said Kathleen Pitt. Many sumptuous side dishes accompanied the always popular grilled hamburgers and hotdogs.

A plant scavenger hunt preceded supper with the contestants strolling along the groomed trails to see who could find the most of 16 wildflowers described with photographs on their handouts.

Most people found all 16, so the tie was broken by drawing the winner's name from a hat. Myrandah Gagnon won the grand prize of a bat house kit.
