PREECEVILLE — The Town of Preeceville and the Preeceville Medical Clinic welcomed a new doctor, Farid Bazaz, who joined the community on Feb. 3.
According to a statement from Stacey Strykowski, the Health and Focus Group and Dr. Incentive program, Bazaz has been in Canada for 16 years. Before coming to Preeceville, he was at the Calgary Hospital in the children’s hospital as a clinical assistant and physician extender at the emergency department of a tertiary children's hospital from 2023 to the present and was the family integrated care follow-up study co-ordinator at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto.
Bazaz was a pediatrician at the pediatric ICU for three years and a consultant pediatrician for five years at Dr. Sheikh Children’s Hospital. He was also the pediatrician-in-chief at NICU at Emam Hadi General Hospital, the community pediatrician at Salamat-e Kodiak Children’s Hospital, and a pediatrician at Salahedin General Hospital, all in Iran.
Bazaz has completed his medical exams to qualify to practice in Canada. His first placement will be in Preeceville where he has to sign a three-year contract.
