New Minister joined United Church in Preeceville and Sturgis

Reverend David Mugadzi of Zimbabwe has joined the United Church congregation as the new minister who will serve the Preeceville Trinity and Sturgis Grace United Churches.

PREECEVILLE - Reverend David Mugadzi of Zimbabwe has joined the United Church congregation as the new minister who will serve the Preeceville Trinity and Sturgis Grace United Churches. He is joined by his wife Faithful and three children Tapiwanashe Tanaka, David Junior Tobyn and Tinashe Berenice.

The family arrived in Regina on June 8 and were greeted by some of the members of the congregation. They spent the night in Regina before setting off for their new home in Peeceville.

The congregation welcomed the family with open arms and had a house , a car and a fridge full of food ready for them when they arrived in Preeceville. Since their arrival they have been busy settling in and the children had even attended classes at the Preeceville School for the last two weeks of the school season before summer break.

“We are so overwhelmed and blessed with the generosity of the congregation, the community and everyone who we have meet,” said Mugadzi. “It has had its challenges with the difference in climate and language and just in general. In order for us to be able to come to Canada we had to apply for Visa’s which we were denied the first time but when we applied the second time we were finally accepted,” he said.

When he was in Zimbabwe he worked in the post office for two-years, taught at a community college and Leadership colleges. He has a diploma in Theology, a Masters in Divinity and a Masters in Political Governance in Leadership. He also was a school teacher for three years in Zimbabwe.

He has many hobbies, enjoys reading, watching and playing soccer, volleyball and basketball. He also enjoys writing in his spare time.
