YORKTON - Students at Columbia School have new playground equipment to explore and enjoy.
Friday, thanks largely to the efforts of a number of volunteers, new equipment was installed at the school.
“The School Community Council has been fundraising for some time,” said principal Bryce Krawetz.
While there are still some funds needed – they are welcoming donations – the project has moved ahead.
Krawetz said the new equipment was installed in an area which was basically open in the playground area, facilitating little redeployment of current play structure.
The installation was largely volunteers at work coming from the Yorkton Junior Terriers, Yorkton Maulers and Minor Football.
Molnar Roofing also offered support and Yorkton Concrete helped with concrete costs, added Krawetz.
The overall project cost more than $100K.
