The Chief Gabriel Cote Education Complex (CGCEC) welcomed new Grade 4 teacher Dustin Gamble to the staff this year.

Returning principal Jonas Cote welcomed around 160 students and 28teaching and support staff members to the Chief Gabriel Cote Education Complex (CGCEC) for the 2019-20 school year.

A man who loves “all sports,” but is especially fond of the Colorado Avalanche hockey team, is the school’s new Grade 4 teacher.

Dustin Gamble of Beardy’s First Nation (FN), having obtained a bachelor of education degree from the U of S (University of Saskatchewan), began his first year of teaching this fall.

“I graduated Grade 12 from this school in 2005, so this area is home to me,” he said, adding that “it’s nice to be back here.”

Gamble completed his internship at CGCEC last year. “I’ve always wanted to be a teacher,” he said, adding that teaching is a profession that runs in his family

Together with his girlfriend, Jessica Cote, the couple have four children: sons DJ (13), Dwayne (13) Nariko (10) and Stefan (8).

Gamble coaches the Cote novice hockey team and is anxious for the hockey season to get underway.
