Police look for wanted man in Yorkton; four face robbery charges

YORKTON - Police are asking for the public's help to locate a man wanted for charges relating to an assault.

In the early morning hours of Sept. 5th, Yorkton RCMP were called to a business located on the 100th block of Broadway Street in Yorkton to a report of a male being assaulted. 

Police responded and located a man with serious injuries. He was transported to hospital for treatment.

Continued investigation by Yorkton RCMP, along with Yorkton Municipal General Investigation Section, has resulted in charges laid against four individuals – two male youths and two men.

The two youths cannot be identified due to provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. They were arrested Sept. 13 and remain in custody. They are charged with: robbery with a weapon; aggravated assault. One youth was also charged with disguise with intent.

Michael Weber, 30, and Derrick Brass, 20, both from the Kamsack area, are charged with: robbery with a weapon; and aggravated assault.

Weber was arrested on Sept. 5, and appeared in Yorkton Provincial Court on Sept. 6th, and was remanded in custody. He will appear again on Sept. 23rd.

Brass has not yet been located, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Brass is described as being 5'5" tall, 130 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He is known to frequent the Kamsack area. If you see Brass, do not approach him and contact police immediately.  

This investigation remains ongoing.
