On July 2, the ceremonial sod turning ceremony was held to mark the beginning of construction for the town of Outlook’s new swimming pool facility.
On Monday, July 10, the work on the project actually began.
Workers from Western Recreation were on site at the location of the future facility just behind the Jim Kook Rec Plex, fencing off the designated location and starting the construction of Outlook’s new pool.
Brett Dyregrov, project manager with Western Recreation, says the spot is a great location for the pool and that if all goes well, the project should be a relatively speedy one. He expected crews to begin digging on Wednesday, and that by the end of July, the location should give a clear picture of what the pool area will look like.
Dyregrov said the targeted completion date is July of next year, leaving the possibilities open for patrons to enjoy on Canada Day.
