Preeceville Cadets undergo inspection and review

Canadian Air Forces elite honoured for youth program.

PREECEVILLE - The Preeceville Harvard Air Cadets 606 Squadron celebrated the achievements and hard work of its cadets with the annual inspection and review on June 12. The cadets paraded in front of reviewing officer Richard Petrowski, executive director for Sask Cadet League, as well as parents in attendance.

Petrowski addressed the cadets and their parents, speaking briefly about the Air Cadet program, which includes 450 squadrons with 28,000 cadets in Canada and 32 squadrons with 1,250 cadets within Saskatchewan. He encouraged parents to continue supporting the squadron program, which teaches leadership mixed with a fun experience.

Cadets who were promoted to more advanced rankings were: Connor Burym and Boden Heskin to Leading Cadet, Henry Bertram to Corporal, William Howard and Seth Reynolds to Flight Corporal, Kaiden Bourassa to Sergeant and Alex Prestie to Flight Sergeant.

Ranking up in proficiency levels were, Henry Bertram, Connor Burym and Boden Heskin to Level 1; William Howard and Seth Reynolds to Level 2; Kaiden Bourassa to Level 3; Alex Prestie to Level 4 and Destiny Goossen to Level 5.

Cadet leaders are: Lieutenant Nathan Karcha, Captain Troy Rogowski, and civilian instructors Ian Abbott, Levi Young and Dustin Hamilton.
