SASKATOON — The Saskatoon Fire Department Communication Centre received a call at 8:36 a.m. Wednesday of two vehicles being involved in an accident at Highway 11 and Circle Drive.

A fire engine, one rescue unit and the Battalion Chief were dispatched to the scene with first arriving crews reporting a vehicle turned over on its side and passengers inside.

Fire crews worked to stabilize the vehicle for safety reasons and began the extrication of the five occupants. All occupants were assessed by firefighters and presented no injuries.

Four children and one adult were safely removed from the vehicle at 8:55 a.m., and a fire crew stayed with the occupants providing warmth and safety from traffic.

Occupants were waiting for another transportation from someone they knew.

The fire crew left the scene at 9:20 a.m. and returned to their station.

SFD is again reminding all motorists to drive safe, especially during icy road conditions.
