SASKATOON - A 17-year-old girl and a 19-year-old man are facing numerous charges following an incident in which the occupants of a stolen truck evaded police on Oct. 15.
Saskatoon Police say that at approximately 4 a.m. officers spotted a Ford F150 at Avenue K South and 20th Street West. The vehicle had been reported stolen from the Prince Albert area. They attempted a traffic stop, however, the occupants refused to stop and fled, driving the vehicle at high speeds. The officers discontinued their attempts.
Soon after, they located the vehicle abandoned at Walmer Road and Avenue H. A canine track of the area was successful in locating the 17-year-old girl and the 19-year-old man. Police also found two sawed-off rifles, ammunition, 297 grams of methamphetamine, multiple cell phones and bear spray.
The two are facing charges including possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, possession of stolen property, possession of the proceeds of crime and numerous firearms offences. The man is also charged with breach of probation.
