Saskatoon Police seize sawed-off shotgun, body armour and charge man

Man was found to be equipped with tactical body armour and in possession of a loaded sawed-off shotgun, various ammunition, and a small quantity of crystal meth.

SASKATOON - Members of the Guns and Gangs Unit have concluded a firearms investigation with the arrest of an armed man.

On Jan. 12, around 7:30 p.m., police observed a man believed to be in possession of a firearm walking in the 100 block of 25th Street West. Following verbal commands from officers, the man surrendered and was arrested without incident.

He was found to be equipped with tactical body armour and in possession of a loaded sawed-off shotgun, various ammunition, and a small quantity of crystal meth. All items were seized.

As a result of investigation, the 31-year-old Saskatoon man is facing several firearm- and drug-related charges.
