SASKATOON — The city's outdoor pools are set to welcome swimmers once again, with the Riversdale and Lathey facilities leading the way. Residents can take a refreshing dip in these pools starting Tuesday, June 6, and Wednesday, June 7.

The Mayfair and George Ward pools will also be available to the public in the upcoming weeks, with June 13 (Tuesday) and June 19 (Monday) as the opening dates.

The Riversdale pool is conveniently located at 822 Avenue H South, while the Lathey pool is at 815 Taylor Street East. If you're looking to visit Mayfair pool, head over to 1025 Avenue F North, and for George Ward pool, the address is 1915 5th Street East.

In exciting news, the city is thrilled to announce the installation of new waterslides at Lathey and Riversdale pools, just in time for the 2023 season. These replacement slides have been specifically designed to complement each facility's unique features and layouts.

Notably, Lathey's new fall boasts a run-out design, enhancing the overall experience for patrons by ending at the slide's base rather than splashing into the pool. This feature offers convenient access and exit for visitors, similar to the falls at Mayfair and Shaw pools.

General admission grants access to various swimming activities, including drop-in sessions for the public, lane swimming, parent and tot swimming, family swims, and aqua fitness classes.

Moreover, the popular outdoor pool bulk tickets are returning this summer. By purchasing a pack of 10 outdoor pool passes, visitors can enjoy a 20 percent discount off the regular general admission rates.

For families with young children, it's worth noting that kids under six can enter the outdoor pools for free when accompanied by a parent or guardian. To check the drop-in schedules, please visit saskatoon.ca/leisureonline.

If you're interested in swimming lessons, Saskatoon's outdoor pools offer classes in July and August. The Spring/Summer Leisure Guide provides a comprehensive list of class options and can be obtained from any leisure facility or viewed online at saskatoon.ca/leisureguide.

To register for swimming lessons, log into your Leisure Online account or visit/call any Leisure Centre.

Remember that outdoor pools will be promptly cleared in the event of lightning if the temperature drops to 14 degrees Celsius or lower or during persistent rainfall.
