On October 30, eight students, one from each grade at the Canora Composite School, were selected to receive Crossroads Credit Union Student-of-the-Month awards for October. Each month, teachers choose the winners based on being outstanding students and role models to peers. Because of the hectic schedule last week due to exam writing and other school year-end obligations it was virtually impossible to get all the recipients together for a photograph. Principal Kim Eiteneier (left) assisted Amanda Thompson, Crossroads Credit Union member services representative, (right) in presenting the awards to October recipients. From left, the winners were: (back row) Durban Hleboff (Grade 8), Janayah Merriam (Grade 10), Brookelyn Tratch (Grade 11) and Megan Tomilin (Grade 12); and (front) Cassandra Danyluk (grade 7), Haydin Parmley (Grade 5) and Abby Wilson (Grade 6).
