Sixteen Sturgis Elementary School students celebrated a milestone with a graduation ceremony on May 20.
Members of the class were: Kelmer Albarracin, Bella Alblas, Jesse Beatty, Conner Burym, Rylee Coleman, ZJ Dela Torre, Ocean Hitchens, Phoenix Galay, Chloe Jansen, Makayla Johnson, Avery Masley, Ripley Prestie, Autumn Rose, Amrie Seerey, Darian Serdachny and Easten Seversen.
Lisa Serdachny, Kindergarten teacher, gave the welcome and introduced each graduate.
“I had the privilege of teaching a group of won-derful, bright, enthusiastic and motivated students,” Serdachny said. “Every day they came to school with huge smiles on their faces, and an eagerness to learn about anything. It has been an honour to watch them grow over the last few months and to be able to bring you all together here today to celebrate their accomplishments.”
The program portion featured students performing the Kindergarten song and the poem, I Wish You More.
Serdachny concluded the afternoon ceremony with presentations of diplomas and closing remarks in a letter that she had composed to all the parents.
