Three people have been charged with two counts of mischief apiece after recent instances of vandalism in the town of Outlook, proving last week to be a busy one for the Outlook and Elbow RCMP detachments, according to Sgt. Mark Langager.
RCMP received numerous complaints from citizens about street signs that were spray-painted, as well as one vehicle, light poles, and local streets and sidewalks.
One of the more highly-visible instances of vandalism was the flower planters that were uprooted and thrown onto Saskatchewan Avenue in Outlook during the late-night hours of Friday, July 7 into the next day.
This particular incident drew the ire of many people on Saturday morning, as photos taken by resident Stevie Seltenrich and posted to the Outlook Bulletin Board Facebook page caused a lot of emotional reactions to come out.
However, the details behind the case go to show that one cannot point fingers without the facts being known, and that it’s wrong to assume the worst of one age group.
On Monday, July 10, Sgt. Langager reported that three Outlook residents have been charged in connection with the vandalism and damage.
47-year old ROSE HILL and 23-year old JEREMY DUNNING are two of the three charged, while the third individual is a youth who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
All three were charged with two counts of Criminal Code Mischief. They were released on conditions and they have a court date of August 10.
