A tribute was made to Archbishop Daniel Bohan, who did so much for St. Anthony’s Church in Rama as well as participate annually in the pilgrimage to the Grotto of Lourdes, by members of St. Anthony’s Parish in the days following his death in Regina at the Palliative Care wing of Pasqua Hospital.

“It is with great sadness that we bid farewell to His Grace Archbishop Daniel Bohan as his earthly journey ended on January 15,” said Mary Kowalyshyn, a spokesperson for the parish.

“We sincerely appreciated all the times he participated in our annual pilgrimage on August 14 and 15 at Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine in Rama. His inspiring homilies were so uplifting that pilgrims returned year after year. His dedication to The Blessed Virgin Mary gave reason for the faithful to turn to Our Blessed Mother for help and guidance. He participated in every aspect of our pilgrimage!

“We were honoured to have him bless the statue of St. Gianna Beretta Molla, the pro-life saint, in 2012. In 2014, we again had the honour to have him bless the images of Mary portraying "The Life of Mary" on our Parish Hall. In 2015, he made our Marian Shrine, Our Lady of Lourdes, very special when through the permission of Pope Francis pilgrims may now earn a plenary indulgence during our annual pilgrimage!

“Each visit he made to Rama, whether it be confirmation or pilgrimage, he left an imprint on so many who heard his amazing homilies. We are sincerely thankful for all he did as he was a great shepherd who led the faithful in the best way possible. May the Lord grant him eternal happiness in heaven,” said Kowalyshyn.
