SASKATOON - Tributes have been pouring in after 37-year-old Adam Jeffery Willett was murdered earlier this month.
Saskatoon Police were called to a home in the 1600 block of 7 Street East at about 7:25 p.m. on Dec. 2 and found Willett’s body. A 20-year-old woman was charged with his murder.
“You had the kindest sweetest soul,” Cathy posted on Adam’s Facebook page. “You were always there for me when I needed a good friend.”
Likewise, John posted, “I got to know how genuinely kind and respectful he was.”
Shonda said Adam was the Saskatchewan cousin they played with every summer growing up.
“His family is trying to wrap their heads around why this happened. His family is broken… His little one is trying to understand where her daddy is.”
According to Adam’s obituary, he was known for his love and passion for his music. He loved jamming with friends and playing his saxophone and guitars.
Whenever Adam would go out to visit friends for a night it was always “can I bring my guitar,” stated his obituary. "For some of us, we will always remember Adam and his dance moves, busting out whenever the song 'Solija boy' would come on over the speakers at overdrive."
Adam had a lot of love to give, he loved all who came into his life he always remembered to say nice things to the people who were there, said his obituary.
He was always checking in on his friends, even at the oddest of hours. If he had a feeling someone wasn’t okay, he’d shoot them a message or a phone call. He was always there for the ones he loved and would do everything he could to help them out. Adam loved his family the most. His daughters were the apples of his eye. Family meant everything to Adam, and he would always share stories of them to everyone. He was very protective of his mom and his daughters.
“We are all going to miss hearing his laugh, watching him jam out on stage and have our own personal shows by Adam,” read his obituary. “He left a huge impact on so many people. It goes without saying his name and legacy will live on forever. He never held grudges and always wanted to share love and be loved."
Police charged 20-year-old Ryah Marty Sorenson with second-degree murder. She appeared in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Dec. 5 and 13 and is back in court on Dec. 22.
