Weather was ideal for 33rd annual KCI band lawn concert

All the Kamsack Comprehensive Institute band students performed at the 33 rd annual lawn concert held at the Kamsack Hospital on June 12 when Darren Kitsch presented awards for best attendance, most improved and overall bandsman.

            In addition to the three bands, art students displayed some of the work they created during the year and pie and ice cream were sold.

            After the beginning band played played two numbers, Kitsch said that the musicians had “come a long way” during the year.

            “They all learned,” he said. “They had to learn to read music as well as how to play their instruments.”

            Beginning band members to receive awards for attendance were: Katelynn Gouge, Teanna Raffard, Levi Erhardt, Remar Capuno and Willow Davis.

            Justus Waugh was named overall bandsman, while named most improved were Lee Tomkulak, Willow Davis, Levi Erhardt and Carter Salahub.

            Other members of the band include Justus blackwood, Sienna Koroluk, Murdock Martinuik, Ty Thomas, Declan Kosokowsky, Bruklyn Munroe and Mikhail Quewezance.

            The junior band performed three selections that were performed at the band festival in Moose Jaw, Kitsch said.

            Curtis Berezowski was named the junior band’s overall bandsman, while Alexia Tourangeau was named the most improved member, and Brandt Bloudoff received the band’s leadership award.

            Receiving attendance awards were Josh Hilton, Brady Hilton and Alexia Tourangeau.

            Other members of the junior band are: Gerri Basaraba, Cadence Campeau, Boston Guillet, Austin Krawetz, Alexandria Shingoose, Jimmy Tao, Will Zarchikoff, Zach Burback, Kevin Luu, Lea Schwartz, Aiden Stone, Petrie Whitehawk, Karen Luu, Jordyn Thomas, Ilyana Carpenter-Bloudoff and Kate Erhardt.

            After joining the junior band for one number, the senior band took to their chairs to perform five selections.

            Receiving attendance awards were: Nicholas Bielecki, Ryan Bear, Kade Wishnevetski, Kyler Kitsch, Kira Kitsch, Talitha Straub, Shani Bear and RJ Bonus.

            Colin Tulloch received the leadership award and Logan Foster was named the most improved member of the band.

            Other members of the band included: Charlotte Henderson, Curtis McGriskin, Sadie McGriskin, Annika Lachambre, Keanna Romaniuk, Elizabeth Hilderman, Zach Cote, Austin Hilderman, Adrian Pearson and Breanna Bland.
