SASKATOON — The second of three persons wanted in connection with the death of Megan Gallagher was arrested by the RCMP on June 4.
Jessica Sutherland, age 42, was taken into custody by members of the RCMP in the area of Onion Lake following a tip from the public. She is charged under Section 182 (b) of the Criminal Code – Indignity to Human Remains and is expected to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on June 6..
Police continue to seek information regarding the whereabouts of one other person wanted in connection to the case.
John Wayne Sanderson, 44, of the James Smith First Nation is wanted under Section 182 (b) of the Criminal Code – Indignity to Human Remains.
Police had previously arrested one of the three wanted persons, Roderick William Sutherland, age 44, who was taken into custody by members of the RCMP in the area of Prince Albert following a tip from the public. He is charged under the same Criminal Code section as Jessica Sutherland and Sanderson as well as Ernest Vernon Whitehead, 41, the first arrest made in the case. Whitehead will appear in court again June 6 for a show cause hearing.
Thirty-year-old Megan Gallagher went missing in Saskatoon in September of 2020. In January 2021, the Saskatoon Police Service announced it was treating her disappearance as a homicide.
Major Crime investigators continue to seek information in regard to this case.
